Deliwe Mtungwazi

I was born and raised in Bulawayo, second largest city of Zimbabwe, in Southern Africa. I was raised in a family of 9 girls and 2 boys. Having trained as a Primary School teacher before coming to England, I went on to train as a Special Needs Teacher at University of London. I did an Advanced Diploma in Education and Psychology of Special Needs Children with disabilities of sight. This led me to complete training with the Royal National Institute of the Blind, where I attained a Certificate in Standard English Braille. 

For further studies I went to University of Greenwich and completed a Bachelor of Arts honours degree in Social Work. I have worked as a teacher and Social worker. In November 2017 I however collapsed on my way from work and was rushed to PRUH intensive care unit. I had multiple organ failure. My condition quickly deteriorated and doctors declared “Do not resuscitate”. However, I was transferred urgently to Kings College University Hospital. I was in a coma for a month. By the grace of God I survived the coma, came out of hospital six months later. A strong urge to know what had happened to me led me to start gathering information on my plight. Eventually I wrote a book: A Second Chance to Life!
